Areas of Practice: Adults/Adolescents, depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, ADHD, eating disorders, perfectionism.
As a clinical psychologist, I have had the pleasure of working with adults and adolescents since 1995. My academic background in psychology (BA, MA) and training in various evidence-based therapies allows me to provide comprehensive psychological assessment and treatment of various mental health issues. I have worked in hospitals, community agencies, and in private practice. I spent 12 years working at the Toronto General Hospital, 7 of which were in the eating disorders day treatment centre.
I work from an attachment and trauma-based lens, integrating strategies from cognitive behaviour therapy, cognitive processing therapy, and acceptance and mindfulness-based approaches. I use techniques that suit the client and do not adhere to a “one size fits all” philosophy. Some typical goals are to help you gain insight into how your beliefs impact feelings and behaviours, or how certain unhelpful patterns tend to be repeated and keep you stuck in an unhappy place. I provide support, validation and strategies that help you in your journey to mental wellbeing.

OFFERING VIRTUAL SESSIONS
I am a Registered Psychotherapist, licensed with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology, and since 2002, I have been providing therapy to adults in a private practice setting. I have helped many adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, chronic pain, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, parenting and anger management, and accident and personal injury-related stress.
My genuine empathy and nonjudgmental approach enables clients to feel safe and respected. My aim is to convey to my clients that each person is unique, thus experiencing and coping with life’s challenges in their own way. I use an eclectic approach, depending on what best suits each individual, and believe that everyone can benefit from gaining a deeper understanding of their symptoms and why they experience them. Dealing with, and getting through unexpected changes in our lives can be difficult. Together, I work with my clients to understand their thoughts, moods, emotions, and behaviours that are affected by life’s stressors, and begin the process of learning how to cope and feel better. I apply principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-based principles, and client-centered therapy.
